The Bentley Federation

The Bentley Federation was first formed in September 2007 as a ‘hard’ federation of King Charles and Bentley West Primary Schools along with Surestart Bentley Children’s Centre. It was the first federation in Walsall and is unique as it incorporates a local Children’s Centre as well as local primary schools. Within the schools there is also a local authority nurture provision and an additionally resourced unit for children with hearing impairments. The first Principal for the federation was appointed in 2011.

Our aim is to be outstanding in everything we do so that we can improve longer term outcomes for all of our children and their families. The federation provides excellent opportunities for teachers and other staff to develop their professional expertise which directly impacts on the quality of teaching and learning for the children. Staff are able to share best practice within a professional learning community, developing an exciting and purposeful curriculum for all children.

All of our work and development is driven by making each of our centres stimulating, vibrant, learning organisations which put children first.
